Dear parent/ guardian,
Thank you for your support and patience during this week as we have tried to manage this difficult situation. At present, we as a school are experiencing our most challenging period since the start of this pandemic with regards to infection rate and the impact it is having on learning.
We are still facing a rise in positive cases among our school staff at present. This is now having an adverse effect on staffing and whilst we are doing our best to retain face to face teaching across the school, parents should be prepared for the possibility of their child having to move to remote learning at short notice.
I would encourage parents to exercise caution by not sending children who are unwell or if there is a positive case at home. If a sibling has tested positive, we therefore ask that all family members remain at home for the period of isolation.
I would ask that parents still contact the school office if your child has tested positive for COVID. This allows for us to plan properly for cover and help to avoid any further class closures. The school office is open from 8.00am – 4.30pm daily.
We have been very fortunate to have the support and understanding of our parents and our aim, as always, is to keep the pupils in school where they belong.
I hope that you can understand the difficult situation that we as a school are currently facing.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Mr Patrick Mallon
